Poem: The strands of love

Posted on Mon 24 January 2022 in Islam

The strands of my love hold firm in my grip,
O how the world has encouraged me to slip.

They stare, scowl and even speak horrors,
Are they not aware, I am their mirror?

Style, fashion, adornment and more,
"Shorten it!" the call to appeal to glamour.

But Mustapha(SAW) did it and so I must obey,
when he sees me,
I hope he does not turn away.

I have nothing to offer except a few tokens,
The Sunnah is not just a word spoken.

Adorn me my Rabb,
Adorn me in Sunnah,
When I leave,
Let Ahmed(SAW) be my companion in Jannah.
